THE MOST INTERESTING MAN HAS LEFT US . . .

WELL, he’s just gone into outer space really. Dos Equis has officially retired its iconic “The Most Interesting Man” by blasting him off on a one-way mission to Mars after a nearly 1O-year campaign. Dos Equis isn’t halting the campaign as much as ending the tenure of the man who played the character since 2OO7 – Jonathan Goldsmith. The company said it will reveal a new “Most Interesting Man in the World” later this year and that this is not the end of the ad campaign “but an evolution”. In the final spot, the suave pitchman was bid a fond farewell from the likes of bikers, monks, beautiful women, and a grizzly bear. “His only regret is not knowing what regret feels like,” observed the narrator. The ads, which have Goldsmith’s character taking part in extravagantly interesting activities, have helped Dos Equis sales with its business nearly tripling since they were introduced in 2OO7, according to the company. Each ad ended with Goldsmith telling viewers to “Stay thirsty, my friend.” Dos Equis did not say what the next evolution of the campaign would be but there’s a certain amount of buzz out there for a Most Interesting Woman in the World.
