KENWOOD VINEYARDS 2OO9 WHITE WINES
The new 2OO9 Kenwood Vineyards white wine releases include the Sonoma County Chardonnay, Sonoma County Pinot Gris and Russian River Valley Gewürztraminer.  (Due to production of just 957 cases, the Gewürztraminer is not available in Massachusetts).  Cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks, the Chardonnay has fresh, forward lemon, lime, green apple, and vanilla aromas.  The flavors are similarly fresh and forward, with lime, lemon and green apple highlights.  Bright and polished on the palate, this wine has a crisp, lingering finish.  Suggested retail of $15.  The Pinot Gris showcases papaya, peach, orange zest, and almond aromas.  Fresh papaya and peach also dominate the flavors, accented by a hint of citrus.  Medium-bodied and vivacious with a long, full finish.  Suggested retail of $16.  The Russian River Valley Gewürztraminer has an opulent nose of lychee, honeysuckle and tangerine, backed by a suggestion of steeliness.  Vibrant flavors of tangerine, lemon, honeysuckle, and spice are augmented by lingering sweetness and crisp acidity.  Cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks.  It has a suggested retail of $11.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
