SAM ADAMS SINGLE BATCH

There are four offerings in this limited-edition collection of the Samuel Adams brewers’ favorite beers: Tasman Red, Third Voyage, The Vixen and Griffin’s Bow.  The Tasman Red is a smooth red IPA with a dry and citrusy hop finish.  The brew is rounded and balanced with hints of toffee.  It combines slightly sweet malt notes with resinous, grapefruit and earthy notes from the Topaz and Galaxy hops grown around the Tasmanian Sea.  The Third Voyage is a bright and intense double IPA with a vivid hop punch.  During the Age of Discovery, Capt. James Cook’s third voyage made him the first to navigate and chart the route from England to New Zealand to the Pacific Northwest.  This beer combines Cascade hops from each of these regions, giving it a citrusy, earthy and bold character.  The Vixen is a dark and rich chocolate chili bock with a spicy kick and velvety smooth malt taste.  It is brewed with ancho and chipotle chilies for an added complexity and touch of smoky heat.  This full-bodied brew is aged on a bed of cocoa nibs from Ecuador for a deep chocolaty flavor that’s roasted, earthy, nutty and slightly sweet.  With a golden, wine-like color, Griffin’s Bow is an oaked blonde barleywine with a deep fruit aroma and a slight oak character.  Flavors of honeysuckle and grapefruit are layered with toffee, vanilla, and the character of toasted oak.  This take on a barleywine has a distinct smoothness and balance of fruit, hop, citrus, and warming strength.  Available in 22-ounce individual bottles from Atlas Distributing, Burke Distributing, Commercial Distributing, L.Knife & Son and Merrimack Valley Distributing.
