Beaulieu Vineyard
is sponsoring a long term project to benefit hunger relief efforts in America: the “BV Give & Give Back Campaign”. BV Coastal Estate Wines began the program last fall with donations to help provide more than 1,OOO,OOO meals to 12 national and regional hunger relief agencies. Now, the brand is launching a digital campaign at facebook.com/bvwines to challenge a matching number of volunteer minutes from visiting wine lovers. The campaign has the potential to provide another 2,5OO,OOO meals for American hunger relief. Using economies of scale in food sourcing and delivery techniques, Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief charity, its many regional member food banks, and other food relief organizations, are able to stretch charitable contributions to provide anywhere from one, to as many as eight meals per donation dollar. As part of the online challenge, BV asks Americans to commit at least 1 million volunteer minutes to food banks, soup kitchens and hunger relief agencies nationally. When BV reaches the challenge goal of 1 million volunteer minutes, American wine lovers will have contributed the volunteer time equivalent of $356,OOO.
