KENWOOD VINEYARDS 2OO7 RED TABLE WINE

Fruit-forward Zinfandel and Petite Sirah lots are the primary components in this easy-drinking wine, with small percentages of Syrah, Pinot Noir and Merlot completing the blend.  Sixteen months of aging in small French and American oak barrels contribute vanilla and spice notes and polished texture.  The final blend is created only after the component wines finish their time in barrels.  The fresh berry aromas are of raspberry and blackberry, accented by hints of spice, bay laurel and vanilla.  Medium-bodied blackberry and raspberry flavors meld with white pepper and mint nuances.  Suggested retail is $9.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
