A CROWN JEWEL OF A BOTTLE
A CROWN JEWEL OF A BOTTLE
This takes the luxury spirits concept to a whole new level. Usually it’s the liquor inside the bottle that makes it expensive, but in this case it’s what’s on the outside that has a custom-designed bottle of Chambord worth an estimated $3 million dollars. Brown-Forman Duty Free unveiled the world’s most expensive spirits container – a Chambord liqueur bottle adorned with $3 million worth of diamonds, gold and pearls – at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas. Designed by international jeweler Donald Edge, the appearance of the pricey bottle was the fourth stop on a worldwide tour that has covered London, Berlin, New York and Orlando. According to Brown-Forman Duty Free Managing Director Jim Perry, the iconic Chambord royal orb bottle is decorated with more than 6O carats worth of diamonds. These include 11OO round brilliant cut diamonds, pear cut diamonds, a square cut emerald diamond, the finest round pearls, and hand-wrought 18-carat yellow gold. Makes you wonder how much a shot costs. And more importantly, who gets the bottle when it’s empty?
