DEWAR’S SCRATCHED CASK

This new release is a blend of up to 4O single malt and single grain whiskies aged in oak barrels for a minimum of four years.  Instead of bottling the blend, the whiskies are married in American oak barrels, both bourbon and virgin oak, which are heavily charred and lightly scratched at the char layer to alter the flavor.  It is then finished in these barrels for several additional months.  Suggested retail is $26 for a 75Oml.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
