THE ART OF BEER

For many brewers, making beer is an art.  For artist Ron Pomeroy, beer is his medium.  He uses a mixture of watercolors and beer to create his paintings.  The majority of the works are nature-themed featuring a variety of fish, birds and other wildlife.  To showcase his beer artwork, Pomeroy has a new website, beercolors.net, which is an eco-friendly site and a portion of the sales proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations that serve to protect wildlife.  Facts are provided on the website about each painted endangered species.  The site also presents mini-fables to illustrate several of its more light-hearted prints, such as its fish with lipstick, senior geese (“Geesers”), party animals, gull friends and its “cool” birds sections.  All were painted with beer.  Artist-signed certificates of authenticity are provided to its customers with the purchase of each print.  Each certificate of authenticity lists the specific beer or beers used in the creation of the painting.
