CAORUNN STORYTELLERS DRINK CONTEST

Caorunn Small Batch Scottish Gin has initiated its CAORUNN STORYTELLERS DRINK CONTEST.  Recipes submitted must be a “modern classic” based on one or more of Caorunn’s five Celtic botanicals: rowan berry, coul blush apple, heather, dandelion, and bog myrtle.  Entries must be accompanied with the story behind the cocktail’s creation via a video submission.  Four finalists will compete at Tales of the Cocktail 2O12 in New Orleans this July.  A panel of spirits experts and writers will determine who will win an all-expense paid trip to Scotland in September to compete in the international finals as well as tour the Balmenach Distillery in Speyside with Caorunn Gin Master Simon Buley.  The winner will receive a cash prize, and the finalists’ cocktails will be promoted worldwide.  Bartenders will be judged on concept, story, presentation, and product knowledge, and cocktails will be critiqued on taste, nose, balance, and garnish.  Entries are accepted until May 2O at caorunngin.com/storytellersusa.
