APPLETON ESTATE RESERVE REMIXOLOGY BARTENDER CHALLENGE

Three of Boston’s top bartenders gathered at Drink in Boston to compete in the second-annual Appleton Estate Reserve Remixology Bartender Challenge.  The first place winner, Sean Frederick wowed the crowd with his performance to Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” while he created his original “Street Meat” cocktail.  For his second cocktail, “The Flip from French Lick”, Sean performed to his favorite movie, Celtic Pride, dressed head-to-toe in Celtics gear as he marched around the bar with a shaker in each hand.  The cocktail was created with Appleton Estate Reserve, Celtic Stout syrup, Riga Black Balsam, and an egg.  Runner-up William Codman  jumped up on the back bar and ripped his shirt off to create his “Flaming Hysteria” cocktail to the song “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard.  William chose Boondock Saints as his Boston film inspiration and created the cocktail “Benedictine Veritas”, made with Appleton Estate Reserve, Benedictine, Crime de Cacao, All Spice Dram, egg, and Guinness.  Stephanie Clarkson came in at third place with her first cocktail “Feel” to the Style Council’s “Solid Bond in Your Heart” made with Appleton Estate Reserve, white Curaçao, bar orgeat, egg whites, and cinnamon.  Stephanie chose two Boston classics, Good Will Hunting and Fever Pitch, to create her second cocktail, “Muddled Math”.  The Finals round of Bartender Challenge is being held in New York City, where Sean will compete against winners from San Francisco, New York and Miami.
