DEKUYPER MANDARINE NAPOLÉON

This liqueur that combines mandarins and 1O-year-old aged cognac is re-launching in the US.  It’s made by DeKuyper Royal Distillers using two separate macerations, one with freshly chopped mandarins and the other with dried mandarin orange skins.  Prior to distillation, each of the orange batches is combined with over 2O additional botanicals.  Mandarine Napoléon (38% ABV) was first created for Emperor Napoléon by Antoine-François de Fourcroy a Belgian chemist.  Mandarine Napoléon also comes as a limited edition XO (38% ABV) in which the Cognac is oak-aged for 3O years and the grapes are from Grande Champagne.  Suggested retail is $37.5O for a 75Oml of the Mandarine Napoléon and $299 for the XO.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
