THE FIRST CRAFT BEER CIGAR

Seasoning cigars in spirits is nothing new. From Grand Marnier to Maker’s Mark, many savor the subtle taste of a seasoned cigar with  their cognac or whisky. These days, craft beers are often enjoyed in a manner akin to sipping a fine spirit. It’s only logical then that there should be a cigar to complement that. Louisville, Kentucky-based Ted’s Cigars has answered the call and is releasing HOPZ Seasoned Cigar – the first ever craft beer cigar aromatically seasoned with Centennial hops. Though this is Ted’s first foray into beer-seasoned cigars, the company is a producer of premium spirits-seasoned cigars.. Through the use of the company’s proprietary seasoning process, Ted’s has imparted the aroma and flavor of Centennial hops. The HOPZ Cigar is a premium handmade 6 X 5O Toro with a Cameroon Wrapper, Connecticut binder and Dominican Republic filler. Each cigar is sealed airtight in a glass tube that requires no humidor and gives the product an indefinite shelf life. How long before we see Chardonnay or Zinfandel cigars?
