OPAL NERA and OPAL BIANCA

These black and white sambucas are once again available in the US.  The Nera is made by distilling sugar beets with alpine water to create a clean neutral spirit.  It is then distilled with Italian Green Anise, Star Anise from China, Sicilian lemon peels, Italian Coriander, and northern Italian elderflowers.  Lastly, the skins of the elderberry plant’s black berries are macerated with the finished liquid to give the sambuca its violet-black color.  The Bianca shares the same distillation methods and ingredients with the exception of the elderberries.  Suggested retail for each is $2O.  Available from MS Walker.
