HARPOON ISLAND CREEK OYSTER STOUT

HARPOON ISLAND CREEK OYSTER STOUT

The 36th installment of the Harpoon 1OO Barrel Series, this stout is the result of a collaboration between the Harpoon Brewery and Island Creek Oysters.  The two local New England companies have crafted a beer that combines locally grown oysters from Duxbury with handcrafted beer brewed in Boston.  A limited batch creation, the stout has a rich body and a smooth mouthfeel derived from a combination of roasted barley and chocolate rye malts.  The roasted notes of the stout blend beautifully with the briny, mineral flavors of Island Creek Oysters, which were added to the brew moments after being harvested in Duxbury Bay.  An addition of hops adds a hint of bitterness and aroma to balance the sweetness from the malt combination.  The original version of this beer was brewed in January 2O1O and became the bestselling Harpoon 1OO Barrel Series beer to date.  Due to its popularity, Harpoon and Island Creek Oysters decided to brew it again.  Suggested retail is $5.99 to $7.99 per 22-ounce bottle.  Also available in limited draft from Harpoon Distributing, Horizon Beverage Company, Atlas Distributing, Merrimack Valley Distributing and Williams Distributing Corp.
