FREE WINE TASTINGS GOING ONCE, GOING TWICE . . .

No more dry wine auctions! The Massachusetts Senate has given final approval to a bill regulating the sale of wine at auctions. The bill passed by the Senate allows wine auctioneers to offer free wine tastings provided that no servings exceed one-fourth of an ounce. Mouthwash has more alcohol in it! Formal legislative sessions ended July 31, but the Legislature can approve non-controversial bills during the rest of the year provided there is no objection from any lawmaker present. The legislation is now on Governor Patrick’s desk.  Get your tasting glasses ready!
