WILLIAM GRANT BUYS C&C SPIRITS

William Grant & Sons has acquired the C&C Irish spirits and liqueurs business, which includes Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, Carolans, Frangelico, and Irish Mist, for €3OO million (US $391.65 million). The newly acquired business will operate as William Grant & Sons Irish Brands Ltd and be based in Dublin and Clonmel. As a result of the deal, the 6OO,OOO case Tullamore Dew (the world’s second largest Irish whiskey brand) will become the company’s sixth core brand in a portfolio that also includes Glenfiddich and The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, Grant’s Scotch Whisky, Hendrick’s Gin, and Sailor Jerry spiced rum.
