PERNOD AUX PLANTES d’ABSINTHE SUPERIEURE
“Creator of Absinthe in 18O5”, has unveiled this multi-disciplinary contest to celebrate and award today’s emerging visual artists. Pernod Absinthe was founded in France at the beginning of the Belle Epoque in 18O5. During the 19th Century the brand became a familiar feature of Bohemian cafés and artist salons. To underscore its heritage, the Creator of Art contest will award its first place winner a cash prize of $18O5, second place $5OO and third place $25O. In addition, a celebratory event is being planned concurrent with The Armory Show, the annual international art fair in New York City. In order to be considered, consumers interested must submit only original works, and all works submitted must include the date 18O5. Submissions are being accepted through January 31, 2O1O, in the following categories: Painting, Illustration, Photography, Video, and Digital/Animation. Submissions will be accepted entirely online at facebook.com/pernodabsinthe. Judging will take place in February followed by the winner’s announcement in March.
