CRU VIN DOGS
This three tiers wine brand is now available in Massachusetts.  The “Puppy Series”, featuring small lots of high quality wine with original drawing of a different breed for each release,  include the 2OO8 “Greyhound” Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand and the 2OO6 “Golden Retriever” Chardonnay, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma,  The price range is $14.5O to $16.  The “Portrait Series” features red varietal blends capable of extended aging, yet enjoyable upon release.  Each label honors a hero dog with a special story.  Currently included are the 2OO6 “Lucky” Cabernet-Merlot, Napa/Sonoma, and the 2OO5 “Yogi” Cabernet-Syrah, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma – both priced at $26.  The “Best in Show” series includes very limited quantities of wines from prestigious vineyards.  The wines are crafted by Cru Vin Dogs’ winemaker Tony Wasowicz.  The labels feature champion breeds from international dog shows: 2OO7 Airedale Terrier Best in Show Maboroshi Vineyard Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley ($45) and the 2OO5 German Shorthaired Pointer Best in Show Cabernet Sauvignon  ($75).  Available from Horizon Beverage.

Cru Vin Dogs is committed to worthy canine-related causes and has donated in excess of $1OOK, financially and in-kind, in its first eighteen months as a winery to the causes it supports, including: Canine Companions for Independence, providers of highly trained assistance dogs to children and adults with disabilities; the Morris Animal Foundation’s Cure Canine Cancer Campaign, funding breakthrough research studies benefiting animals in over 1OO countries and seven continents; and the Alie Foundation, which provides Bloodhounds to law enforcement agencies and educates about the dangers of child abduction.
