NO WINE from AMAZON

From books to clothes, from diapers to DVDs, you can buy just about anything in the world on Amazon – but you can’t buy wine and you won’t be able to in the near future. After a lengthy campaign, Amazon.com has abandoned its efforts to sell wine online. It nearly came to fruition; online wine sales were originally to have begun by October of 2OO8. Complicated alcohol regulations and the many and varied restrictions of shipping wine apparently derailed the effort. Experts have said that even if Amazon had managed to find a legal way to ship wine to all fifty United States, it still faced substantial hurdles. Not only does wine requires a signature for delivery, if it’s left in the sun or heat it gets ruined. In the long run, the risks and challenges outweighed the benefits.
