J. LOHR VINEYARDS & WINES
J. LOHR VINEYARDS & WINES will be funding mammograms for women in need through its partnership with the NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION. Designated a commemorative release in honor of Jerry Lohr’s late wife Carol Waldorf Lohr, $2 from every bottle sold of 2OO5 J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon will go directly to help provide mammograms for women who would otherwise be unable to afford them. Carol is the namesake for a nearly forty-acre parcel in northern St. Helena, Napa Valley, known for producing some of the valley’s most noteworthy Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and the origin of the fruit used in this vintage. After Carol’s untimely passing in August 2OO8 due to complications from breast cancer, the family and employees decided to designate the 2OO5 vintage of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon a commemorative release, in part to honor her legacy of caring and generosity. Research indicates that early detection and treatment are essential to combating breast cancer, and annual mammograms are an essential first step toward confronting a disease which will impact 1 in 8 women over the course of their lifetime – and those who love them. J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines will donate $62,OOO dollars from sales of its 2OO5 J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon to provide mammograms for 5OO women in need, to be identified through National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
