VALLEY OF THE MOON 2OO8 UNOAKED CHARDONNAY

For this unoakedChardonnay the winery draws grapes from the very cool Russian River Valley, where they develop  vibrant fruit while retaining natural acidity.  The cool climate results in Chardonnay with fresh green apple and kiwi character; Valley of the Moon cold-ferments the juice, keeps the new wine in stainless steel and bottles it within months of the harvest to preserve this character.  The 2OO8 Chardonnay has vibrant green apple, kiwi, lemon, and nectarine aromas, and flavors of green apple, lemon and kiwi with a hint of steeliness in the background.  Suggested retail is $16.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
