Pernod Ricard USA and BAR, LLC have launched BarSmarts WIRED, the second and more broad-reaching phase of the partnership’s successful BarSmarts bartender training, education and certification program. This phase offers bartenders across the country the opportunity to participate in BarSmarts through a web-based education and certification program offered exclusively through password-protected entrance to the BarSmarts Wired site. Unlike BarSmarts Advanced, which launched in October 2OO8, Wired is not an invitation-only program. It is available to any bartender who is interested in learning the craft, advancing his or her career and becoming certified in advanced education. The online course is open to registration through September 3O. Through the program, participants complete assignments, take exams and gain certification at home or in their work environment during their specified two-month window. The program covers topics such as: Spirits Knowledge & Tasting, Cocktail Knowledge & Technique, Bartending for Career Advancement, Service & Profit.
