X Winery has released its first white wine blend consisting of Sauvignon Blanc (57%) Muscat Blanc (2O%), Chardonnay (19%), and Roussanne (4%) grapes.  The grapes come from five different counties in the North Coast AVA: Napa, Solano, Lake, Mendocino, and Sonoma Counties.  X’s winemaking team used independent growers who share the winery’s commitment to sustainable agriculture.  Their investment in “green” business also extends to its bottles, which are made in California and Washington from 75 percent recycled material.  Another example of X’s sustainable winemaking processes is the use of cross flow filtration which relies on re-usable ceramic filters rather than the diatomaceous earth that ends up in landfills as a waste product.  Suggested retail is $14.99.  Available from Trio Wine Company.
