2OO7 KENWOOD SONOMA COUNTY CHARDONNAY

This Chardonnay uses grapes from Russian River Valley and southern Sonoma Valley, Sonoma County’s two coolest vineyard regions. The harvest – in late September and early October, nearly a month later than normal – produced Chardonnay with intense varietal character and superb natural acidity. To preserve the character of the grapes, Kenwood cold-fermented a significant percentage of the harvest in stainless steel and then allowed it to age sur-lies on the yeast after fermentation. The two components combined to create a Chardonnay of inviting fruit, complexity and balance. 8O,OOO cases were produced.

Retail price is $15.
