A NEW NAME REFLECTS EXPANDED MISSION
Massachusetts Licensed Beverage Association has a new name and an expanded mission. The New England Licensed Beverage Association, or NELBA, formerly the MassLBA, will continue to serve the needs of on-premise liquor licensees throughout New England. Terry Connaughton, who served as Executive Director of the MassLBA, will serve as President, and the organization will name directors for each of the six states that the organization represents. NELBA, the New England on-premise affiliate of American Beverage Licensees, has been vocal in its efforts to protect and promote the rights of license holders across all industry segments including bars, taverns, restaurants, hotels, golf courses and stadium venues. The organization will use their Burlington, Massachusetts office as main headquarters but will operate satellite locations now established in Providence, RI; Burlington, VT; Manchester, NH; Portland, ME; and Middletown, CT. NELBA will focus initially on raising awareness of both the organization and the industry in New England through the launch of a new trade magazine, straight up, which was set to debut in late February.
