The CUTE KEG
MOVE
OVER WINE-IN-A-BOX,
beer-in-a-bag is coming. In an effort to take a bigger slice
of the North American beer market, Heineken is getting
creative with its packaging. Their first step was the 4.75
liter mini-keg which made its US debut in January. This fall
Heineken will bump the mini-keg up to an even 5 liters and
is currently testing out its latest innovation, the
BeerTender, in Rhode Island. Basically a home keg system the
size of a cappuccino machine, the BeerTender contains an
aluminium bag that holds the beer and keeps it fresh for 3O
days. Obviously, the trials are not aimed at those who can
kill a keg in a weekend, but rather those who enjoy tap beer
at home. Place your orders now because by Christmas it will
be the “must have” home bar accessory.
