COMPASS BOX

JOHN GLASER, the founder and whiskey maker of Compass Box, will step down from the Scotch whisky company after 23 years. Launched in 2000 by Glaser, the Scotch whisky blending house is known for its focus on “reinventing” the category. Glaser will depart from his executive role in May while remaining a shareholder in the company. The departure comes nearly two years after Compass Box named London-based Caelum Capital as its majority shareholder and appointed ex-Bacardi executive MAURICE DOYLE as its CEO. In addition, JEFF POPKIN has been hired as the company’s new president for the Americas. Popkin, who previously served as vice president of sales at vodka producer Stoli Group, will oversee the US, Canadian and Latin American markets for Compass Box.
