BOMBAY SAPPHIRE “MOST IMAGINATIVE BARTENDER”
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE “MOST IMAGINATIVE BARTENDER” – The United States Bartenders’ Guild (USBG) hosted the regional finals of the “Most Imaginative Bartender” competition in July, sponsored by Bombay Sapphire Gin. A series of timed sessions and blind tastings was conducted by a panel of judges including Troy Clarke, USBG President-Boston Chapter, Bryan Tattan, USBG Director of Education-Boston Chapter, Nicole Lebedevitch, former manager at The Hawthorn, and Nick Kosevich, Bombay Sapphire Brand Ambassador. At the end of the evening, Ran Duan of The Baldwin Bar at Sichuan Garden in Woburn was declared the winner. His innovative “The Forbidden Fruit” recipe, made with egg white and homemade passion fruit syrup, was recognized as the most creative cocktail based on appearance, aroma, imagination, and taste. Duan will now advance him to the USBG Most Imaginative Bartender Finals in Las Vegas to be held on September 8. If he wins the national title, he will move forward in the competition as the US representative in the 2O15 global finals.
