SHOW ME THE PROOF! Cocktail Competition

The second annual SHOW ME THE PROOF! Cocktail Competition for bartenders featuring Louis Royer “Force 53” VSOP Fine Champagne Cognac is now open.  At 1O6 proof, Force 53 is one of the highest proof Cognacs in the US market today.  Entrants are tasked to demonstrate the brand’s versatility in a wide range of cocktails suitable for any time of year.  Bartenders are encouraged to submit up to two recipes that represent their favorite seasons.  A total of 12 finalists will compete in New York City on September 18 before a judging panel that includes spirits critic F. Paul Pacult, mixologist Dale DeGroff, writer Jack Robertiello, wine and spirits expert Steve Olson, and more.  The competition’s Grand Prize includes a one-week, educational trip to France to visit Louis Royer Cognac’s cellars in Jarnac and experience the Fete du Cognac Festival, as well as two nights in Paris.  Second and third place winners will each win a cash prize of $1OOO.  Guidelines and submission forms are listed on shakestir.com/louisroyer.  Recipes may be submitted through August 31.
