There are three new additions to the Courvoisier portfolio. The Connoisseur Collection, consists of Courvoisier 12 and Courvoisier 21, and L’Essence de Courvoisier. The Courvoisier 12 is a blend primarily selected from the Borderies, which at 12 years of age develop to the optimum in their floral and spicy notes. Almonds, raisins and orange marmalade on its taste are nurtured from the old Grande Champagnes region as a finishing touch. Suggested retail is $49.99. The Courvoisier 21 is from the top growth region, the Grande Champagne, and is aged in warehouses for over 2 decades to develop richness in the aromatic style. Suggested retail is $25O. The 12 and 21 releases mark the first time any of the four major houses of Cognac has introduced a product with age statement. L’Essence de Courvoisier is a rare combination of blends consisting of more than 1OO eaux-de-vie housed in cellars dating back to the early 2Oth century combined with 197Os and 198Os eaux-de-vies. Each bottle is made by Baccarat with a crystal stopper inspired by the legend of Napoleon’s ten signet rings which were bestowed upon favored military commanders who had committed noble acts.
