KENWOOD JACK LONDON VINEYARD 2OO6 MERLOT and SYRAH

This Merlot displays vibrant aromas of Bing cherry and raspberry, accented by eucalyptus and bay leaf notes.  Bing cherry and raspberry also highlight the flavors, together with chocolate – both bittersweet and semi-sweet – accents.  Dense and velvety on the palate, the finish is long and smooth.  Suggested retail is $25.  The Syrah has forward plum, rhubarb, licorice, and bacon aromas and flavors of olallieberry, plum and rhubarb that are complemented by toasty oak complexity.  Richness and weight in the mouth are backed by “soft” integrated tannins.  Only 75O cases were produced, and distribution is limited.  Suggested retail is $25.  Available from Horizon Beverage Company.
