SMOKING and DRINKING in NEW HAMPSHIRE
New Hampshire like many states, banned smoking in bars and restaurants a couple of years ago. But under an exception that the Senate has approved to New Hampshire’s two-year-old ban, cigar bars would be allowed to sell liquor. The bill now heads back to the House to review limits the Senate placed on the proposed cigar bar liquor license. The cigar bars would be restricted both from serving food and allowing cigarette smoking on the premises. The Senate also wants job applicants to receive a written statement that working in a cigar bar would expose them to second-hand smoke and increase their risk of getting cancer and heart disease.
