better watch out – Virginia has its sights set on becoming a
major wine destination. travel + leisure has named Virginia
one of the top five new wine destinations in the world. The
state is the only American region featured in July’s
“Wine-Lover’s Guide”, which highlighted up-and-coming
destinations for travelers who are enthusiastic about wine
and food. Wine editor Bruce Schoenfeld cites Virginia’s
wineries, cuisine and accommodations as reasons for putting
Virginia on the list. The article focuses on wine regions in
Central and Northern Virginia, including Barboursville
Vineyards, Breaux Vineyards, and Linden Vineyards. The state
has 13O wineries, ranking it fifth in the nation for number
