SAMUEL ADAMS LONGSHOT VARIETY PACK

This year’s Longshot Variety Pack includes a Raspberry Berliner Weisse from winner Tim Thomssen of Lincoln, Nebraska; a Belgian Golden Ale from winner Kevin Nanzer of Mountain View, California; and Neighborino Flanders Red Ale from Samuel Adams Employee winner Colin Foy. The Weisse beer has a frothy head with bright notes of raspberry, a fresh tartness and clean finish. The Golden Ale has notes of fruit, clove and pepper in the aroma, balanced by subtle malt character, with a clean citrus taste and bitterness from the hops. The Red Ale was brewed the traditional way, with “younger” beer blended with mature beer that has been aged in wood for several months, while Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus produce fruity, tart and acidic flavors. Suggested retail per 6-pack is $9.99 to $1O.99.
