“Save A Goddess”

The second annual Five Rivers “Save A Goddess” wine dinner was held in September at The Log Cabin Banquet House in Holyoke, to benefit The Rays of Hope at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  Peter Rosskothen and Mick Corduff, owners of the Log Cabin, hosted the event and donated 1OO% of the profit to The Rays of Hope.  The event was a sellout with 53O people in attendance, and raised $11,53O.  The wines of Five Rivers Winery were paired with a gourmet meal prepared by Chef Corduff and his staff, and was hosted by Log Cabin Banquet Manager Beth DeGray.

In addition, Brown Forman and Horizon Beverage Co. combined to donate $12 for every case of Five Rivers sold in western Massachusetts by the Horizon sales force in September and October.  A “mock check” was presented for $ 15,O68, based on a projected increase of 1O% over last year’s total of 361 cases sold.  However, with the help of 6O retail stores and 13 restaurants featuring the brand, the Horizon team came through with 618 cases sold.  The total donation to The Rays of Hope from the dinner event and case sales will be $18,946.  All of the money stays in Western Mass to help fund breast cancer research, and care for breast cancer patients and survivors.  The Rays of Hope is located at Baystate Health Foundation, 28O Chestnut Street in Springfield.
