DRINK DIABETES AWAY

LINGERING AFTER DINNER drinking red wine or tea could help keep your blood sugar in check, say researchers at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In a test-tube study, scientists found that antioxicants in the beverages help block an enzyme, called alphaglucosidase, that ushers sugar into your bloodstream after a meal. The payoff: both drinks could help ward off diabetes, says study author Kalidas Shelly, PhD. And black tea may top the white and green varieties. Researchers found the dark dried leaf was the most effective sugar stopper.                                                   -MENS HEALTH
