VAZA COSECHA 2OO6, VAZA CRIANZA 2OO4

These are two new Spanish Rioja wines from the Ferrer Family whose commitment to winegrowing dates back to 16th century Spain.  The Cosecha is comprised of 9O% Tempranillo and 1O% Graciano, with aromas and flavors of red fruit (cranberry/raspberry), cinnamon, vanilla and tobacco leaf.  Suggested retail price is $12.  Based entirely on Tempranillo, the Crianza bottling is a wine that displays vivid fruit alongside complex aromas and flavors derived from oak aging.  Rose petal, leather, tobacco and dried herbs are enveloped in black plum and black raspberry fruit characteristics.  Aged 14 months in American and French oak barrels, suggested retail price is $15.
